SHINSUKE IWAMI

Shinsuke Iwami

I think the best part of pottery is that it can be made from the earth, without having to buy anything. Since ancient times, the distinctive characteristics of each production area have been determined by the raw materials available in that area.
I obtain materials from the places I create. When I'm in Mashiko, I use Mashiko's materials, when I'm in Cambodia, I use Cambodian materials, and when I'm in Denmark, I use Danish materials. My basic style is to get ideas with various possibilities from each place, gain experience in each place, and then create in there.
