YOSHINORI HAGIWARA

Yoshinori Hagiwara

I love kilns! In my studio, I have an electric kiln, a kerosene kiln, a gas kiln, and a climbing kiln. I enjoy digging the clay and planning the firing, but I enjoy firing the kiln even more. Everything is fun. I want to continue researching new things while making traditional Mashiko ware. One of the glazes I use is Kaki glaze—an iron-rich traditional glaze from Mashiko that produces a deep persimmon-like color. I would like to continue using it.
