I create vessels by melting glass sake bottles.

They should be vessels for everyday use, not something flashy or delicate.

Hopefully, they will embody a healthy beauty.

I create my work with these thoughts in mind.

Biography

1982 | Born in Hitachinaka City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan
2005 | Began glassmaking at Glass Studio Kamos, Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture
2010 | Assistant training at Uzawa Glass Studio, Hitachiota City, Ibaraki Prefecture
2011 | Worked as a staff member at Glass Studio Kamos, Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture
2011 | Started personal creative activities under the name “Noraglass”
2021 | Built a glass furnace in Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture
2021 | Became independent as Maejima Glassworks
