YUKO ONO

Yuko Ono

When I was little, I loved drawing.
I also loved stories. I loved daydreaming, making up my own tales, and imagining them in detail.
I had ceramic animals like deer and dogs, and I used to make up and act out all kinds of stories with them.
Looking back now, I think it was great fun to play that way.

When I was 30, I went to a pottery school and learned the blue-and-white porcelain technique.
When I was in junior high school, my father told me to read the epics of Homer from Greek mythology. I began to paint scenes from Greek mythology, Little Red Riding Hood, Grimm’s Fairy Tales, and Pippi Longstocking on paper and pottery.

I want to recall the sensibilities of my childhood and play once again with the heart of a child.
I hope you enjoy it.
